Having recently got my garden turfed I was looking for a good quality 4 way tap that wasn’t going to leak and have great build quality for my 4 hose sprinkler setup.
My initial reaction before buying was it seemed expensive for what it is but I had trawled through Amazon for cheaper alternatives and kept coming back looking at this Gardena 8194-20 4 way adaptor as the others just didn’t look robust.
In use I wasn’t disappointed, definitely doesn’t leak, gives equal pressure across all valves, the valves open close dial is very strong in operation. The collar fixing arrangement to the tap is also excellent.
I feel like it’s going to last a long time and will store away during winter.
update: 9/4/19: 9 months on and its broken. the casing is bursting from one end and the valves have become super tight..

I use this water meter for filling the fresh water tank on my motorhome. The tank is 100 litres but is so easy to overfill as the on-board gauge isn’t so accurate. Using this water meter, filling of the tank is so straightforward. It comes with standard hose fittings and I simply fit it onto the campsite tap in a second or two before connecting my hose. I fill to 90 litres and shut off the tap – no more guesswork and no more annoying overflows. Perfect.

Bought this with trepidation due to mixed reviews and answers to questions that contradict each other and the item description. Found the meter to include all expected features and be accurate from 1 litre per minute upwards. At very low trickles the meter significantly under-reads, and flow only starts being reported at all at about 0.5 litres per minute. There are four display modes selected by pressing the button momentarily: two totals that are reset manually, one total that auto-resets whenever flow starts and an instantaneous flow rate. Press and hold the button to reset either of the displayed totals (Total 1 and Total 2). In flow rate mode, press and hold the button to change units between litres and gallons (which appear from measurement to be US gallons, 1.2 US gallons = 1 UK gallon). Note: changing the measurement unit resets all totals to zero. Either hose connector can be unscrewed to reveal a 3/4″ BSP thread, male on the bottom and female on the top of the unit. This is the standard domestic hose tap thread. Water flows through a plastic tube within the unit, any leakage is likely to be due to the screw-on connectors being loose (they screw on to rubber washers). Note if you plumbed directly to the female thread it would prevent removal of the electronics to change the battery. I would say the unit was splash-resistant, there is potential for water ingress via the pushbutton and possibly via the battery enclosure (which is sealed with a rubber bung). The impeller is removable for cleaning.

I bought this so I could add hot water to my boys paddling pool and during lockdown choices were minimal.
I am so glad I paid a bit more for this system, not only is it easy to fit and take off but it’s actually improved my tap. The flow of water is better with the filter which comes with it and the water is fluffier.
Great for those without and outside tap or for those like us who want to add warm water outside.

Total rubbish. Didn’t work at all. I sent photos plus a video to the seller showing this, and they say they want more information. AVOID! They emailed me saying, “We acknowledge receipt of your request, we are sorry for the inconvenience caused.
However, in order to be able to answer it as well as possible, please provide the following information:
– If the product is damaged, please attach an explicit photo
– If breakdown, please specify the reason for the breakdown.
– A picture of the nameplate (label with the serial number of the unit) located on your unit.
– Pictures of the packaging,
– Photos of the transport label
So that our teams can bring you a quick solution, can you confirm your contact information (first and last name, address, phone and email). Can you write it on paper or make a screenshot of your email address and send it to us as an attachment because the address will not be displayed in the email?
I provided this information at great length, taking photos uploading them etc. Waste of time. IT DID NOT WORK AND ALL I ASKED FOR WAS A REFUND!
They replied again saying,”Dear Customer,

Was worried about getting the right size fitting for my tap because it wasn’t clear from other reviews exact what the dimensions were of the old fitting so that’s why I included the photos to show the old screw fittings of the previous tip of the sink and the dimensions 22mm inside diameter of the old fitting.
Only took minutes to change over and no leaks!
The hose adaptor is a little fiddly to get on to the new fitting as you almost need to push it up firmly to the sink tap while keeping downward pressure on the tap so you don’t damage its seal to the sink itself and then sliding the clip across to connected it but once you work it out its easier next time!
Great product and fits Hoselock products too!
